TURBULENT BORES–INDUCED SCOUR AND PORE PRESSURE VARIATIONS AROUND A VERTICAL STRUCTURE

چکیده
The scour due to the highly turbulent tsunami inundation is also a major threat nearshore infrastructure [Nakamura, et al., 2008]. Research on local sediment erosion during events has shown correlation between formation, pore pressure variations, and soil liquefaction [Mioduszewski Maeno, 2003]. To understand structures’ capacity withstand bores, it critical assess formation variations around their foundations [Macabuag 2018, Nicholas 2020; Mehrzad at. 2021]. Young al. (2008) conducted laboratory experiments study induced failure sand bed with two different slopes of 1V:5H 1V:15H. showed direct link slope peak increased as increased. Concerning hydrodynamic forcing factor, research by [Chanson, 2006] that characteristics can be adequately modeled using dam-break waves. prime objective this was comprehensively investigate interaction wide range conditions beach variation associated scour.

Numerical investigation of flow and scour around a vertical circular cylinder.
Flow and scour around a vertical cylinder exposed to current are investigated by using a three-dimensional numerical model based on incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The model incorporates (i) k-ω turbulence closure, (ii) vortex-shedding processes, (iii) sediment transport (both bed and suspended load), as well as (iv) bed morphology. The influence of vortex shedding and...
متن کاملPressure Relations and Vertical Equilibrium in the Turbulent, Multiphase ISM
We use numerical simulations of turbulent, multiphase, self-gravitating gas orbiting in the disks of model galaxies to study the relationships among pressure, the vertical distribution of gas, and the relative proportions of dense and diffuse gas. A common assumption is that the interstellar medium (ISM) is in vertical hydrostatic equilibrium. We show that the disk height and mean midplane pres...
متن کاملTurbulent characteristics in flow subjected to bed suction and jet injection as a pier-scour countermeasure
The effect of a combined system of the bed suction and jet injection as a pier-scour countermeasure on the turbulent flow field is studied in a laboratory flume using an Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV). The three components of the velocities in the vertical symmetry plane in the equilibrium scour hole in front and rear of the pier under 3-jet injections and bed suction rate Qs/Q0 = 2%located...
متن کاملPIV measurements of flow in and around scour holes
Two sets of experiments related to the scour of cohesionless sediment by planar turbulent jets are presented and discussed. The first set of experiments measures the growth of the scour hole and downstream dune as a function of time. Measurements reveal a bedform that is nearly self-similar and whose growth in time is governed by a power-law relationship. The bedform is well represented by thre...
متن کاملAccretion Disks around Young Objects.i. the Detailed Vertical Structure
We discuss the properties of an accretion disk around a star with parameters typical of classical T Tauri stars (CTTS), and with the average accretion rate for these disks. The disk is assumed steady and geometrically thin. The turbulent viscosity coefficient is expressed using the α prescription and the main heating mechanisms considered are viscous dissipation and irradiation by the central s...
